Monoi, symbol of Polynesia

Monoï is obtained by macerating Tiare flowers in coconut oil. A true flagship product in Polynesia, monoi has a thousand virtues. Let's learn to make it our daily ally!

Monoi oil nourishes, moisturizes and protects the epidermis from external aggressions. Thus, it is perfect for dry skin. Monoi also prevents dehydration of the skin. In the summer, it is therefore often used as tanning oil (be careful, however, to keep in mind that this oil does not contain UV filter(s)!). It also serves as an after-sun because it helps prolong the tan.
Monoi repairs the hair by strengthening it. It also brings shine. In this, it can be compared by some to organic coconut oil, but monoi is reputed to be a better product for the hair. It can be used on dry ends or as a hair mask. It can also be used all over the hair. To do this, coat your hair with monoi (avoid the roots if you have oily hair). Wrap your hair in a hot towel and leave on for 30 minutes to a few hours. Rinse then do your usual shampoo.
An everyday beauty oil, monoï can also be used as a massage oil. It can be used on newborns, to protect them. Relaxing effect guaranteed for the older ones too!
Alone or mixed with certain medicinal plants, monoi treats everyday ailments. It warms the body of those who rub it, it relieves muscle pain, it prevents stretch marks in pregnant women...
Finally, let's not forget that Polynesian women also have the habit of applying a few drops of monoï on their skin to smell good because the oil has a sweet and powerful fragrance that comes from the Tiare flower.
