Losing weight challenges many women, with countless methods promising quick fixes. Erika hit her limit at nearly 70 kilos and turned to an e-coach for sustainable support. She shares the pros, cons, and real results of this online program.
The scale read 69.9 kilos—teetering on 70. That was my breaking point. I refused to go higher. Generally, I'm content with my full-figured self—not overweight, but not slim. Are you happy with your body?

Every pound enters through the mouth. I rarely skip cake, candy, or biscuits—never counting carbs or calories. Drinking eight glasses of water daily? Tougher than eight glasses of wine.
At nearly 70 kilos, I took it seriously. A Facebook ad for an e-coach appeared: learn mindful eating and drinking from home. It promised better self-feel without leaving the house. Tempting—until winter sports week with currywurst, fries, beer, schnitzels, and schnapps distracted me.
Post-vacation, summer loomed—no hiding under thick clothes. I wouldn't exceed 70 kilos. Early bedtimes curbed midnight snacking. But a midweek wine with friends and snacks derailed my resolve. I forgot my goals, feeling doomed to never match those fit moms on TV or social media.
The e-coach ad resurfaced. I signed up for mindful eating guidance—for myself and my kids. Was my diet truly healthy? Time to find out.
E-coaching is straightforward: daily emails with tasks, questions, facts, recipe links, meditations, and tips. A private Facebook group lets me ask questions, track others' progress, vent frustrations, and gain peer support—a full mindful eating and weight loss toolkit.
Initially, logging intake felt tedious. But apps and coach guidance eased me through. She allowed wine or chocolate in balance—life's about enjoyment. Factors like sleep, stress, and relationships matter too.
Does online weight loss coaching work?
It's low-commitment—no direct oversight. You must self-motivate, or it's wasted money (enough for a nice dress—or two, fitting better post-loss).

March: minus 3 kilos, despite indulgences. Proud! But April-May's social events—dinners, drinks, nachos—slowed me. Temptations overwhelmed.
Scale check: minimal damage. Coach Anouk taught persistence—100 small steps beat 10 big ones. Post-indulgence, I rebound with spinach smoothies, veggie omelets, and walks. Familiar advice, but external accountability delivers the nudge (or kick).
June: down 2.5 kilos total, fitter, more energetic. Mindful without obsession—perfect for me.
Bought two summer dresses, size M. Key lesson: confidence shines brighter than size.
