How Much Does My Everyday Makeup Routine Really Cost? An Honest Beauty Breakdown

How Much Does My Everyday Makeup Routine Really Cost?

As a longtime beauty enthusiast, I was thrilled to take on this popular tag challenge inspired by YouTuber Mademoiselle Juu (one of my favorites!). The goal? Calculate the true cost of my daily makeup routine. While I don't stick to one exact routine—I'm all about rotating products from my collection to keep things fresh—I selected my go-to favorites that I reach for most often.

Beauty addicts like us know the joy of a well-curated makeup stash. Opting for a photo-based article over video felt right for showcasing these essentials up close. Prices are averaged from online retailers, and brace yourself—the total might sting! Let's dive into what I apply day after day.

Eyes (€95.89)

Eye primer Proof it! (€6.90) – Color Tattoo cream shadow (€5)
Chocolate Bar Palette (€44)

I always start with eyes. Recently, I discovered NYX's Proof It! eye primer, and it's a game-changer—finally, a base that grips my shadows all day. No more fading issues for me. Next, I even out my lid with a skin-tone cream shadow: Maybelline's Color Tattoo 24H in matte "Crème de rose." For palettes, my ultimate favorite is Too Faced's Chocolate Bar, perfect for versatile everyday looks.

Scandal’eyes beige pencil (€3.99) – High Tolerance mascara (€13)
Better Than Sex mascara (€23)

A beige pencil on my waterline is non-negotiable; Rimmel's Scandal'eyes has been my budget hero for years. For mascara, I layer two: Avène High Tolerance for lengthening and separation with its curved brush, then Too Faced Better Than Sex for that dramatic, false-lash volume I crave.

Complexion (€116.70)

Mattifying primer (€25.90) – Dream Wonder Nude foundation (€13)
Naked Skin Concealer (€24) – HD Powder (€9.90)

Complexion products vary for me, but here's my current lineup of favorites. I prime with Montecito's mattifying base (a tester standout, though pricey). My foundation of choice for the past year is Maybelline's Dream Wonder Nude—lightweight, natural coverage, comfy wear, and wallet-friendly (full review here).

Urban Decay's Naked Skin concealer offers excellent coverage and staying power. I set everything with NYX's High Definition Finish Powder (yellow-toned but translucent), which keeps my matte look intact for hours.

M.A.C bronzer (€22) – Baked blush (€8.50)
Heart highlighter (€6.50) – Eyebrow mascara (€6.90)

To sculpt and glow, MAC's Harmony Powder bronzer (taupe-perfect for pale skin) is my daily pick. Blush rotates, but Milani's baked "Berry Amore" shines with pigmentation and luminosity. I Heart Makeup's highlighter (grab it from sites like Maquillalia) is insanely blendable and long-wearing. Eyebrows get NYX Tinted Brow Mascara—simple, effective tinting.

Lips (€12.90)

Mat Hysteria Arcancil (€12.90)

Lips are tricky since I switch often, but I'm loving matte liquid lipsticks lately. Arcancil's Mat Hysteria tops my 2016 discoveries: pigmented, easy to apply, comfortable, long-lasting, and affordable—what's not to love?

Total = €225.49

Ouch! It adds up fast, especially with that palette. But these products last months, even years (like my Rimmel pencil). I mix affordable gems (NYX, Maybelline) with splurges, balancing the budget. You can achieve a similar routine for less with brands like e.l.f., Makeup Revolution, or Essence. What's your daily total? Share below!
