Double Bath Technique for a Two-Tone T-Shirt
Materials: 1 cotton T-shirt, 1 purple dye sachet, 1 red sachet, 1 yellow sachet, 30 g fine cooking salt, 2 containers (3 L each).
Steps: Fill one basin with 40°C water, add 2 tbsp purple dye and 2 tbsp salt. In the second basin, mix 2 tbsp salt, 2 tbsp yellow dye, and 1 tbsp red dye for an orange hue. Soak one half of the T-shirt for 5 minutes in the purple bath, then the other half for 5 minutes in the orange bath. For a gradient effect, gently dip the central third successively into both baths. Lay flat to dry.
Materials: 1 white cotton tank top, 3 textile dye sachets (different colors), 30 g fine cooking salt, 3 bowls, 1 brush, 1 spray bottle.
Preparation: In three bowls of 40°C water, dissolve salt by the spoonful and infuse each dye sachet for 8 minutes. Use the brush to apply turquoise and fuchsia patterns. Fill the spray bottle with fuchsia dye mix and spray lightly. Repeat with yellow dye. Rinse thoroughly after each color application until water runs clear to prevent bleeding.
Materials: White cotton sneakers, 1 textile dye sachet, 30 g fine cooking salt, 1 spray bottle.
Steps: Mist sneakers with 40°C water and salt from the spray bottle. Place a small amount of dye powder in your palm and blow gently toward the sneakers—the color absorbs instantly. Wear rubber gloves to avoid stains. Dry away from direct sun or in a dryer. Use color-catching sheets for initial washes.
Materials: 1 white pair of jeans, 1 blue fabric dye sachet, 30 g fine cooking salt, small rubber bands, 1 basin.
Steps: Secure several small knots with rubber bands on the jeans. In a basin of 40°C water and salt, infuse the blue dye for 1.5 minutes for a soft pastel shade. Submerge knotted jeans for 2 minutes. Remove bands and rinse until water runs clear.
