Wednesday's beauty question:what's the point of a repigmenting treatment?

What is a repigmenting treatment? It is a temporary action treatment, which deposits pigments on the surface of the fiber (which explains why they disappear as you shampoo). Be careful not to confuse it with a coloring, generally permanent, which opens the scales of the hair, dissolves the natural pigments and allows artificial pigments to penetrate. Another difference (of size!):the colo can sensitize the fiber (because of the opening of the scales), while the repigmenting mask nourishes and strengthens it.

Who is it for ? The repigmenting treatment is recommended for colored hair:it restores color intensity and boosts reflections. If you have natural hair, it also works and brings highlights.

How do I choose it? There are different dosage forms:shampoo, conditioner and mask. Many shades exist, so it is better to get advice to choose your own. Keep in mind that the repigmenting treatment has no "coloring" action, so there's no need to take a golden blonde if you're brunette.

How do I use it? Generally, it is applied every 2 washes (or even with each shampoo if the color really fades). If it is a shampoo, it is used in the classic way. If it is a conditioner or a mask, leave it on for several minutes. Remember to wash your hands after use:the treatments can color the nails...
