Discover natural solutions to tackle body odor effectively. As warmer days approach, conventional deodorants often fall short—and they're harmful to your health and the environment.
Luckily, time-tested natural alternatives exist and outperform many commercial options, based on my years of experience as a beauty blogger. Simple pantry staples can create powerful deodorants.
Similar to using talc on a baby's skin, apply cosmetic-grade baking soda to your underarms. Massage gently, then wipe away excess to avoid irritation. Never apply to freshly shaved skin, as it may cause itching.
Swap your deodorant stick or spray for a portable alum stone. While not my personal favorite, many users swear by it. This fully natural option contains potassium sulfate that neutralizes odor-causing sweat.
Certain essential oils target perspiration issues head-on. Palmarosa essential oil, with its delightful rose-like scent, excels as a deodorizer. It doesn't block healthy sweating—which helps eliminate toxins—but neutralizes odor-producing bacteria. Just one drop on each underarm in the morning keeps you fresh all day.
The market now offers excellent choices, with or without baking soda or essential oils. In the April Belle au Naturel box, the Biosme Paris Blanc de Coton deodorant stands out. Enriched with protective bamboo hydrosol and probiotic actives, it prevents odor while moisturizing skin. Essential oil-free, it's ideal for pregnant women.
And you, what are your go-to anti-odor remedies?
