DIY Pre-Shampoo Hair Oil Recipe: Nourish and Strengthen with Natural Oils

This pre-shampoo treatment oil blends vegetable and essential oils tailored to your hair type for deep nourishment and shine.

For about 30 ml of care oil:
Pour into a glass bottle 12 ml castor oil and 12 ml avocado oil. Add 10 drops ylang-ylang essential oil and mix thoroughly. Apply once or twice weekly by lightly soaking your hair, leaving it on for at least one hour—or ideally overnight—for best results.

Custom tweaks:
To fight dandruff: Swap ylang-ylang for clary sage essential oil and castor oil for argan oil.

To combat hair loss: Replace ylang-ylang with 5 drops bay essential oil and 5 drops grapefruit essential oil.

To nourish very dry hair: Use coconut oil instead of castor oil, plus a touch of melted shea butter.
