Many Keep Cosmetic Surgery Secret from Partners and Friends, UK Study Reveals

A surprising insight from Transform, the UK's largest cosmetic surgery provider: Numerous patients undergoing procedures keep them hidden from partners, friends, and family. They often request subtle changes to their appearance and ask clinics to disguise charges on bank statements, based on a major patient survey.

A lingering taboo. Up to three-quarters of women receiving Botox keep it from friends and family; half don't even tell their partners. Among women, liposuction is the most secretive procedure, with 1 in 3 staying silent about it.

Men aren't exempt from hiding cosmetic procedures. The stigma runs deeper for them—an impressive 81% of treated men keep their procedures secret from friends and family.

Celebrities often deny it too. For instance, 47-year-old Demi Moore, with her wrinkle-free, ultra-taut skin, has always claimed she's never altered her body.
