Find great clothing stores by combining offline and online shopping with Findur!

You want to quickly buy a new winter coat, but you don't feel like strolling through the city for hours, even though there are still so many nice clothing stores. You actually already know what you want, but would still like to try on the jacket. Recognizable? Then the new Findur app is for you!

The app combines the overview of online shopping with the pleasure of shopping in the city. YEAH! It works very simply (you would think it was invented by a woman 😉 ). You set where you want to go shopping and then the app shows you all the clothes that are currently in the stores there. Like a kind of Tinder, you swipe through the offer and you can save your favorite items on your wishlist. He will then also show you the fastest route to the store, so that you can immediately try on the item. Of course you can also make selections, I'll tell you more about the options below.

Table of Contents

Discover new nice clothing stores

With Findur you not only go well prepared, you will also be surprised while shopping. With the app, you also end up in stores that you would normally not enter at all, because of their shop window, for example. I don't know if you recognize that, but I 'scan' the windows myself. Doesn't it look good to my liking, or do I see nothing hanging that catches my attention? Then I continue. While they may have something nice hanging inside, or in fact… exactly the item I'm looking for! Sin!

Swipe on the couch

Nothing to do in the evening? Of course you can facebook or just google around, but it's also great fun to just swipe through Findur  on the couch. So every swipe is a surprise. Be careful, there is a risk that you have to put your phone on the charger while if you are even a little addicted 😉 . If you don't know exactly what you want, no problem! You just let yourself be inspired by the app. This way you can discover the nice clothing stores at your leisure the night before   and map out your shopping route.

The Findur app

The app already has 1000 stores and can be used in almost every city in the Netherlands. However, Eindhoven is the real star with 22 shops in the center. Not surprising, because the students who developed this app see Eindhoven more or less as their home base. The shops vary from well-known chains such as Bijenkorf, WE Fashion, vanHaren and Hunkemöller to smaller boutiques (currently only in Eindhoven).

The app makes no distinction between large chains and small boutiques. All the offer is equally visible and in total you will find around 15,000 articles in Eindhoven. Of which almost 4000 in my sizes. Enough to swipe!

Handy:You don't have to worry that the item will be cheaper elsewhere in the city, because the app automatically shows the cheapest!

Findur is only just getting started and many more stores will be added in the near future. In addition, the app will be expanded to include children's clothing. Definitely worth following!

But why did they come up with Findur now?

The goal of Findur is to close the gap between web shops and the physical shopping street. The app was developed by students of Eindhoven University of Technology as a result of their research into 'the store of the future'.

This showed that many people orientate online before going to the city, but often cannot find the intended product. By making shops work together within a platform, they try to solve this problem and make the city more attractive.

I think it's a great initiative, because all those empty shopping streets are nothing.

Efficient shopping, so an app for men?

Indeed, the idea started out as an app aimed at men. However, the makers soon received comments from many ladies:“for us, shopping doesn't always have to be a whole day out”. And let's face it, busy mothers don't always have the time and sense to go shopping all day, right? And if I sometimes have the whole day, I still prefer to look in nice clothing stores that are to my taste, so that I also have time left for a nice lunch and a delicious cappuccino;).

Just like with online shopping, you can use filters in the app at these nice clothing stores. This way you can shop very purposefully and it saves you a lot of search time. For example, I searched for a 'blue jacket' size 'm', and the app already gave me about 70 in Eindhoven. You set your measurements once in your personal profile, so that you only see items that are really relevant to you.

Tip:If your husband doesn't like shopping that much, put together a nice wishlist for him. This way he only has to try it on and you can spend the rest of the afternoon on the terrace 😉 .

You can find the Findur app in the iTunes store and in the Google Play store
