French Summer Fashion Habits: Insights from a Survey of 27,800

Packing for vacation often sparks dilemma over what clothes to pack. While summer trends provide clues, seaside styles remain unpredictable. To shed light, online shopping platform Shopcade surveyed 27,800 French people (58% women, 42% men) on their holiday fashion preferences.

Key finding: French vacationers embrace a more relaxed vibe (72% of women, 91% of men) versus classier or trendier looks year-round. Women's top colors? White leads at 31%, followed by blue (28%) and red (15%). Men overwhelmingly choose blue (48%), then red (30%) and multicolored mixes (8%).

Well-Dressed Vacationers

Notably, most stick to their signature style in summer—no wardrobe overhauls for 61% of women and 67% of men. Women favor 'casual chic' (32%) or 'bohemian/hippie chic' (31%) aesthetics. Men prefer 'simple and sporty' (58%), with jeans, shorts, and tank tops as staples. This loyalty shines: 50% of women and 61% of men say vacationers dress well overall.

Prioritize comfort in your outfits to savor every moment. Happy holidays!
