What's the use of a konjac sponge?

Konjac, this plant native to Southeast Asia, was best known in France for its "appetite suppressant" and detox properties. For the past few months, beautystas around the world have sworn by the konjac sponge. But what is it exactly?

Taken from the root of the plant, it is a 100% natural product whose texture cleanses the skin and gently exfoliates it. "Konjac root is sanitizing and anti-bacterial, so just wet it for it to be effective," says Katalin Berenyi, founder of the Erborian brand. If we prefer, we combine it with a cleanser (gel or foam), but it is not necessarily more effective. There are different shapes and colors of sponges. The larger ones are reserved for the body, with larger fibers than those for the face. The “classic” sponge is white. She

is available in other colours, all with a specific action:anti-aging (red clay), purifying (green tea), mattifying (black charcoal), soothing (purple lavender)…

Who is it for ? It is suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive. As it offers the most gentle exfoliation, it is an interesting alternative if you cannot stand manual exfoliation or the use of a cleansing brush.

I adopt it.

The sponge is used daily on cleansed skin. It is wetted by adapting the temperature of the water to the desired effect:cold, it tightens the pores and hot, it dilates the pores (=facilitates the penetration of active ingredients). If using a cleanser, apply it directly to the skin.

Flat side against the fingers, make circular movements with light pressure. We start with the forehead and the nose, which require thorough cleaning, and we finish with the cheeks and the chin.

After use, rinse the sponge with clean water and let it dry. We change it every three months (or before, if it gets damaged).
