Women use an average of 14 fragrance-containing products daily, while men use about 10. These findings come from a TNS NIPO study involving over 1,000 respondents.
All participants estimated they encountered perfumed products less than four times a day, yet actual exposure exceeds 10 times daily. Women aged 25 to 34 lead with an average of 16 fragrance products per day.
In recent years, Dutch consumers have increasingly focused on skincare and household products—from deodorants and shaving foams to laundry detergents—all infused with scents. This heightened contact can trigger allergic skin reactions.
Despite using far more perfumed products than realized, many Dutch people don't consider fragrances essential.
