Face:a tonic, what for?

We know it:make-up removal and hydration are two essential steps in our beauty routine, not to be skipped under any circumstances if we want to keep beautiful skin. The other products? Well, we have to admit that even if we love going to Sephora to discover all the new products and trying out the textures, we don't always know what they're for. Among the “mysterious” products, there is the tonic. According to its name, it… invigorates? But is it really interesting, and for whom? We tell you everything.

Suitable for all skin types

The tonic is used at the end of the make-up removal routine and before hydration:its job is to remove make-up remover residue and dead cells that may remain on the surface of the skin, but also to purify, moisturize the skin and to regulate its pH, in order to prepare it for care. On the application side, it depends on the type of skin:if it is normal to combination, we apply the tonic lotion with cotton, while if we have dry skin, we will apply it rather directly in the palm of the hand, by tapping the epidermis delicately. As for the choice of products, it's the same:we will favor moisturizing or soothing formulas if we have dry skin, while we will opt for a purifying tonic if we have combination skin.

In summary:the tonic is the product that boosts the effectiveness of our moisturizer. We would be wrong to do without it, wouldn't we?
