DIY: Craft Your Own Natural Dry Shampoo for Healthy Hair

What Is Dry Shampoo?

Formulated with plant-based powders, dry shampoo effectively absorbs excess sebum and refreshes the scalp. It helps extend time between washes by banishing greasy roots. Apply to the scalp, let it sit for two minutes to absorb oils, then brush out residue. For seamless blending, choose a tinted formula.

Shopping List

Select powders tailored to your hair needs: horsetail powder astringes and stimulates the scalp (boosting growth), shikakai combats dandruff, kapoor kachli offers antioxidants with a subtle natural scent, amla promotes growth and curbs hair loss, micronized rice powder mattifies, green clay deeply cleanses and purifies, arrowroot purifies the scalp, and peony powder soothes itchiness.

Mix 5 tablespoons of one or more powders with a few drops of your preferred essential oil or vegetable oil. Sprinkle lightly on the scalp, massage in with fingertips, and brush away excess.
