Rain weighs down normal hair, causing it to clump together. Start by gently wringing it out with a towel (or paper towels if needed, as tissues often tear), from roots to tips. Dry it quickly using a hairdryer—or a hand dryer in a pinch—and style to prevent frizz.
As it dries, fine, flat hair sticks even more to the scalp. Wring it out thoroughly, then massage your scalp with your fingertips to lift the roots and separate any clumps. Shake your head vigorously back and forth to speed drying and add volume.
Once dry, thick, frizzy hair puffs up wildly, especially around the face and crown. Wring it out, then brush it back smoothly. Dry while styling, taming flyaways with a light mist of hairspray. No products? Tie it back and smooth the frizz until dry.
Two cases: If straightened, it's porous and holds moisture but stays sleek—squeeze excess water, style gently (without pulling, as it's fragile), and air-dry. For natural afro hair, it swells and curls. Detangle with a wide-tooth comb, smoothing as you go. Ideally, comb while drying; otherwise, brush back, tie up, or tuck under a hat until dry.
