MSCHF's Provocative Air Max 97 'Jesus Shoes': Limited Edition Filled with Holy Water from the Jordan River, Reselling for €2,700+

Art collective MSCHF has reimagined Nike's iconic Air Max 97 as the audacious 'Jesus Shoes'—complete with soles filled with holy water.

Inspiration strikes from unexpected places, including religion. MSCHF's Air Max 97 MSCHF x INRI Jesus Shoes blend sneaker culture with biblical symbolism in a bold statement.

Featuring a crucifix on the laces, these sneakers contain 60 centiliters of holy water sourced from the Jordan River—the sacred site of Jesus Christ's baptism. Pilgrims still flock there annually to reenact this pivotal biblical event.

Crafted by the American art collective MSCHF, the shoes aim to let wearers 'walk on water,' echoing Matthew 14:25. MSCHF strategy director Daniel Greenberg shared the project's quirky origins with the New York Post.

For believers or sneaker enthusiasts drawn to this divine concept, the limited edition—now blessed and sold out—is available on resale sites starting at over €2,700.
