Air Max Day is just around the corner! To honor the 30th anniversary of Nike's flagship sneaker this weekend, the brand is unveiling a host of exciting new releases.

It was March 26, 1987, when the Nike Air Max first debuted to the world. For three decades, this legendary shoe has remained a cultural staple, continually evolving through iconic models like CB '94, TN, Elite, Skyline, Flyknit, and beyond. This Air Max Day, fresh pairs are set to launch.
A Sole Made Entirely of Air
The standout innovation is the Nike Air VaporMax. This cutting-edge addition to the Air Max family blends Flyknit styling with a revolutionary sole crafted entirely from air, delivering the superior cushioning Nike is renowned for. True to modern trends, the VaporMax is a unisex design, much like select Flyknit models.
The original Air Max 1 returns in classic colorways: white/red/gray, white/blue/gray. Nike also refreshes it with vibrant new options. Teaming up with Japanese brand Atmos, the Air Max 1 features elephant print accented by a turquoise swoosh. Meanwhile, the Air Max 1 Master modernizes its signature safari pattern.
Introducing Airmojis
Nike's iD customization platform gains "Airmojis"—playful icons inspired by Nike and Air Max basketball culture—to let fans personalize their kicks. Available for a limited time only.
Over the past year, Nike went beyond inflating expectations. The brand handpicked 12 global designers—from Los Angeles to Istanbul to Shanghai—christening them "RevolutionnAirs" to reimagine the Air Max. Online voters selected the winner, debuting this weekend ahead of a 2018 release. With such variety, finding your perfect pair is effortless.
