Get rid of your gray autumn complexion in 6 steps

Get rid of your gray autumn complexion in 6 steps

Do you know that? The further the mercury goes down, the more color you lose in your face. Santé's beauty editor Carlijn is done with it and discovers the step-by-step plan against a gray autumn complexion. Bring on that glow, even in the fall!

1. Splash of ice cold water

Difficulty waking up? A splash of ice cold water on your face works wonders. An additional advantage:the blood circulation is stimulated, so that you get a pink tan.

2. Exfoliate with ground almonds

Kickstart your skin by cleansing in the morning with a cleanser that gently exfoliates. My ultimate favorite, for years, is Angels on Bare Skin from LUSH. This natural cleanser contains soothing lavender, cleansing clay and lightly exfoliating almond particles. A healthy complexion guaranteed.

3. Moisture, moisture and more moisture

Whether you have oily or dry skin, moisturizing is a must. Moisture prevents dehydration and prevents you from having to deal with dryness lines. And that's bad news, because these signs of dryness can make you look drab. Tip:Apply a toner or lotion while your skin is still damp. This way the moisture absorbs better into the skin.

4. Drop self-tanner

A self-tanner can be a tricky be a product. Think:too tan, spots and an irregular complexion. Prevent a self-tanning debacle by mixing the substance with your day cream. One or two drops of self-tanner are enough to give you a subtle sunkissed glow to give. My favorite is Clarins Addition Concentré Eclat. After two days of application, that gray autumn complexion has disappeared like snow in the sun.

5. Subtle shimmers

A little bit of glitter never hurt anyone. In fact:a small dose of shimmers can put an end to your colorless fall snout. Mix a little bit of liquid highlighter through your foundation and apply the mix with a damp sponge while dabbing. Also an option:choose a foundation with light-reflecting pigments.

6. Pink cheeks

No makeup bag is complete without pink blush this season. Blush adds color to your face and brings your complexion to life. Do not limit yourself to the apples of your cheeks; a tiny bit of pink blush wouldn't look out of place on the tip of your nose either.
