5 Beauty treatments at home

Now that we are forced to sit at home, appointments at the beauty salon are not possible. But do not be sad. You can pamper yourself with these 5 beauty treatments at home. A little me-time can't hurt, regardless of whether it's because of Corona or because you just have less budget.

Care of skin, hair and nails at home

Currently, hair salons, beauty salons and nail studios are all closed. We will see and hear soon if and when these will open again. I don't expect much from it yet and assume that we will have to miss certain things until June. Of course, that doesn't mean you should neglect yourself. You can use the tips to cut your own hair, but also take care of your nails and take care of your skin.

With the tips below you can dye your own eyelashes and eyebrows, but also remove your hair (permanently). Of course, these tips will never match an appointment at the beauty salon, but sometimes something is better than nothing. You can also find tips for using nice beauty products at Stylicity.nl.

5 Beauty treatments for the home

Before you get started:get some rest and relaxation. Put on some relaxing music and make sure you have your hands free. So leave the care of the children to your partner.

1. Dyeing eyelashes and eyebrows

Do you have your eyelashes and/or eyebrows dyed normally and are you now with your hands in your hair (hopefully figuratively)? You can dye your eyelashes and eyebrows yourself with suitable paint.

Before you get started:

  • Provide clean and grease-free eyelashes
  • Stick eye pads under your lower lashline
  • Prepare the paint according to the instructions on the package. Usually this works the same as with normal hair dye
  • Use an old mascara that you've cleaned or a cotton swab to apply. Start at the roots and apply the paint to the last detail
  • Remove excess paint with a cotton pad
  • At the end you can remove the eye pads

2. Hair removal (permanently)

Just because you're indoors doesn't mean you have to let your hair grow. To avoid misunderstandings:I am talking about unwanted hair growth on legs, armpits, etc. You can also look well-groomed when you are at home. By the way, you can also wear a skirt during a walk. So time to tackle those excess hairs. You have various options for removing hair (permanently).

Epilating hair

Epilating hair is better than shaving hair. If you shave your legs, there is a good chance that you will get ingrowth. If you opt for epilation, the hair often grows less stiff, so there is a good chance that the epilation also hurts less. Then choose a good epilator with a number of attachments. After use, your legs will remain smooth for about 2 – 4 weeks.

Remove hair with wax

Are you a novice? Then start with cold wax, which is slightly less painful and doable for a starter. The advantage of using wax is that the legs remain smooth for longer. In most cases, everything you need is included in the package and you can get started with the wax right at home. Ensure peace of mind and use the wax at your leisure in the bathroom.

Remove hair with IPL

Do you want to get rid of your hair permanently? Then the use of an IPL device is a must. It is an expense, but see it this way:you invest once and then you are (finally) rid of your hair. Moreover, this method does not hurt and offers you the guarantee that you will always have smooth legs.

3. Deep cleansing of your face

Your face has a lot to endure. Maybe a little less now because you go out less. However, you should take optimal care of your skin when you are indoors. You can do that in different ways. The easiest way to clean your skin is with an electric facial brush. These do not cost much money and are well worth the investment. Your skin will glow and feel silky soft.

Do you often suffer from blackheads? Then a blackhead remover is a must for your beauty products. You can always use this in combination with your facial cleansing products.

4. Doing a facial treatment at home

Once the skin on your face has been cleansed, it's time for an all-over facial. Which treatment is suitable for your skin depends entirely on your skin type.

Face treatment for dry and stressed skin

A little extra love and especially moisture is a must for this skin. A mask to relax your skin is therefore a necessity from time to time. You can use the time you let the mask soak in to take a bath or sit back on the couch and do nothing.

Face treatment for impure skin

If you have problem skin, it is preferable to use an enzyme peel. It is important that the mask cleanses and cares for the skin in a gentle but effective way.

Facial eczema

No fewer than 375,000 people in the Netherlands suffer from eczema. This is often treated with hormone ointments or products containing hydrocortisone. Fortunately, there are also better and, above all, healthier alternatives. n. IK Skin Perfection has launched the Award-winning EXCM SERUM+ and the EXCM CREAM+. Made from skin-specific and skin-identical ingredients, making them long-lasting.

Anti-aging facial treatment

If you have mature skin, you should tailor your treatment accordingly. Unfortunately, there is no miracle cure for wrinkles yet. Of course you can opt for botox, but if you want to work less rigorously, you have to seek refuge in other things. For mature skin, for example, use a jade roller. Rolling stimulates blood flow, which helps to reduce wrinkles.

5. Taking care of nails yourself

Of course it is important to have beautiful nails at home as well. Especially if you occasionally have an online meeting with video, it is important to look great. Fortunately, you are not dependent on a nail studio. You can get started yourself. Keep in mind that if you are pregnant that you use suitable nail polish that is safe for pregnant women.
