Naturally against wrinkles

QUESTION: I have a ruddy complexion with combination and very sensitive skin. My skin looks red around my chin and nose. Often products are not nourishing enough; they make my skin restless and do nothing about the wrinkles around my eyes or mouth. What should I pay attention to when looking for products that are suitable for my sensitive skin?

ANSWER: “It's important that you choose products that are soothing so that they protect your skin and minimize the signs of sensitive skin. In addition, the chance of skin irritations is as small as possible if you choose products that are free of fragrances, dyes, preservatives, alcohol and soap.

An aloe vera-based product line is a good, natural choice because of its moisturizing and soothing properties. In combination with nourishing oils, aloe vera also helps strengthen the skin's natural defense system. This system protects the skin from irritants. You probably have quite pale skin because of your ruddy appearance. Choose a day cream with a sun filter, so that your skin is protected against UV radiation during the day. A sunscreen also protects against premature skin aging.

To make the skin a little firmer, you can use an additional serum and an eye gel or cream in addition to cleaning and care products. A serum is a quick-drying, light gel that you use before your day and/or night cream. The gel forms a protective, soothing 'blanket'. This makes your skin feel firmer.

An eye gel or cream that moisturises and protects the thin skin around the eyes, helps to reduce the signs of sensitivity and makes wrinkles less visible. You apply the gel or cream by applying the product around the eyes with your fingertips and gently patting it in with your ring finger. That is softer than with your index finger. Don't rub, that can lead to more wrinkles.”
