In addition to sunscreen, do you need some extra protection in the sun? Take a big bowl of grapes with you.

That's right, grapes † The fruits contain ingredients that protect the skin cells against harmful UV radiation of the sun.

When we lie in the sun, the UV radiation acts on the skin through so-called reactive oxygen species (ROS) to activate. This activates certain reactions and enzymes, which can ultimately lead to the death of certain cells † However, the flavonoids in grapes reduce the formation of ROS in the epidermis. This protects the skin against the harmful effects of UV radiation, such as premature skin aging and – even worse – skin cancer.

Did you know that there are already several cosmetics and medicines are for sale that contain nutrients from grapes? The way grapes protect the skin was just not well researched until now.
