This Week in Beauty: Winnie Harlow's Vitiligo Triumph, Dior's Double Eyeliner, and Easy Smoky Eyes

Winnie Harlow: Embracing Vitiligo as a Top Model

Vitiligo is a skin condition causing depigmentation in patches. It affects 0.5% of the population, commonly on the face near the nose and mouth, and joint areas. Painless but socially challenging, it currently has no cure.

Canadian Chantelle Brown-Young, better known as Winnie Harlow, has lived with vitiligo since childhood. Bullied with nicknames like "cow" or "zebra," she turned adversity into strength, becoming a top model to show beauty's diverse faces and colors—including her own two-toned skin, as she playfully notes.

Winnie shares empowering photos on Instagram and joins Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model this summer. Her message inspires: "I want to be America's Next Top Model because it's my lifelong dream. As an 'outsider,' I prove you can pursue dreams despite imperfections."

Dior's Striking Double Eyeliner by Peter Philips

The makeup at Dior's Cruise show in New York was mesmerizing! Peter Philips, Dior Makeup's Creative and Image Director, drew from Raf Simons' designs and the collection for this sixties-inspired look: a classic twisted upper eyeliner with a bold, graphic lower line.

Peter Philips expertly breaks down his creative process for this Cruise standout.

Perfect Smoky Eyes Using a Cotton Swab

No brushes or palettes needed! The Beauty Department pros reveal a flawless smoky eye with just a kohl pencil, cotton swab, and mascara.

Line upper lashes and eyelid, then the waterline. Blend with a cotton swab. Extend with more pencil if desired, and finish with mascara.
