1/ Gather the tools
Start with the right accessories: a hair elastic matching your hair color for a discreet look, a brush, a comb, and 5-6 Kirby grips or hairpins. Keep hairspray on hand to lock in the style.
2/ Tie the hair
Tilt your head down, brush your hair smooth, and secure it into a ponytail at the crown or nape, depending on your desired bun placement. Use the comb to flatten hair against your scalp, then mist with hairspray for a flawless finish.
3/ Prepare the ground
For thick hair, dampen it slightly or apply a bit of gel before twisting. This reduces volume, ensuring better hold. Wetter hair is easier to work with.
4/ Twist the lengths
Hold the ponytail upright and twist tightly from the base, keeping it vertical for stability. Continue until it coils around itself like a snail shell. Adjust height to suit your face: higher to elongate a round face, lower to balance a slender one.
5/ Finalize
Secure the bun discreetly at the base with pins. Finish with a light hairspray veil to tame flyaways.
