I want red hair!

Which shade of red for which hair color?

To choose your color well, choose one whose intensity will be close to your natural color. So, if you are brunette, choose a carmine red, dark and bright. On brown hair, a crimson red and on blond hair a bright cherry red. The more the red hair color you choose matches your natural shade, the easier it will be to hide your roots between two hair colors. In addition, a color close to your natural color will last longer. If you are hesitant to choose the right color, do not hesitate to consult a colorist who will guide you through the nuances and give you valuable advice on obtaining the ideal color. In the salon, a red color can take two to three appointments. Yes, it is a delicate operation.

Red coloring at home:some tips

Always test your red hair color on a strand of hair before applying it all over your head. We know that it is tempting to immediately empty all the product to see the result as quickly as possible, but this test will allow you to A) judge the color obtained B) prevent any allergic reaction. Discoloration is an essential step before making a red coloring. If you don't bleach your hair before applying your color, you may end up with, at most, a few highlights. Each hair absorbs color differently and, unless you are a colorist, it will be very difficult for you to assess the result down to the exact shade on your hair. In any case, it will not be the same as the one on the box. Too bad, right? The red coloring also holds much better on discolored hair. A tip to avoid redness:apply an ultra-rich cream to the edge of your forehead before bleaching your hair. Do not "shampoo" your head with the product. Take a bowl to mix the product, a flat brush and hair clips and apply your color strand by strand.

How does the red color change over time?

The red coloring fades or “bleeds out” more quickly than the others. If you applied semi-permanent hair color, it should be able to last without fading for up to 10 weeks. The colors keep their reflections and their intensity longer on healthy and maintained hair. Provide a kit of special colored hair products and apply a mask at least once a week. The stronger the hair, the better it retains color, so pamper it!
