Question: In recent years, I've lost a significant amount of my blond (now graying) hair. It's not extreme hair loss, but no new hair seems to be growing in. How can I address this?
Answer: First, blond hair is naturally thinner than darker hair—a proven fact. Hair density also declines with age. The growth cycle includes three phases: the growth phase (about five years), resting phase (five weeks), and shedding phase.
Studies show the hair follicle completes around 25 cycles, potentially lasting 125 years. But an unbalanced diet, stress, illness, or hormones can shorten them. Losing over 100 hairs daily signals hair loss.
Here, aging is likely the cause. Supplements or targeted hair loss treatments can slow it and protect remaining hair (check with your pharmacist).
Once follicles stop producing hair, no supplements or treatments can revive them.
