Hair Care as You Age: Restore Moisture, Shine, and Volume

You can color gray hair effectively. However, as we age, hair often becomes drier and loses its natural shine.

With age, your scalp produces less sebum—the natural oil that keeps hair moisturized. This means hair stays fresh longer between washes but dries out more quickly than before.

In the shower
Opt for a shampoo formulated for dry hair. A small amount is sufficient to cleanse your entire head—using more only strips natural oils and worsens dryness. Gently massage your scalp during washing to stimulate circulation. Follow with a nourishing conditioner for added moisture and shine. Finish with a cool rinse if needed to seal the cuticle.

During styling
Shine and volume are key to a youthful look. Focus volume at the crown for lift, avoiding excess around the face. Apply volumizing spray or powder at the roots, then mist with shine spray for a polished finish.
