With Halloween approaching, a British survey of 2,000 adults reveals that horror and thriller films may accelerate premature aging.
The study, commissioned by Foreo—a Swedish leader in beauty technology—highlights how facial expressions during scares contribute to lines.

Participants reported making shocked, tense, or surprised faces 9 to 11 times while viewing films like The Silence of the Lambs and The Shining.
Dr. Harry Singh, Foreo spokesperson, explains: "When we have a shocked look, we activate the forehead muscles. Repeated expressions strengthen them, forming horizontal lines across the forehead."
