Pigmentation spots frustrate many women as soon as they appear. Six in ten women report dealing with them. Yet, nearly half (40%) of women aged 25-35 don't understand their origins. Only 30% know effective skincare strategies to combat them, despite 40% wanting to reduce or prevent these spots. These findings come from Nivea's research conducted by DirectResearch, supporting the launch of the new Nivea Cellular Luminous630 Anti-Spot range—a comprehensive line targeting pigmentation spots and under-eye dark circles.
Beyond their visible effects, pigmentation spots take an emotional toll. Over half (51%) of Dutch women affected feel less attractive as a result.
The idea that 'older means wiser' doesn't apply here. Knowledge about pigmentation spots actually decreases with age, despite the higher risk in older groups. Notably, 76% of 25-35-year-olds recognize that childhood sunburn increases later blotchiness risk, compared to just 60% of 56-65-year-olds. Additionally, 72% of 56-65-year-olds incorrectly believe hand pigmentation is unavoidable, versus 36% of younger women. The good news: effective solutions exist for hand spots too.
Our skin naturally produces melanin for its color. Factors like aging, sun exposure, hormones, inflammation, and genetics can disrupt this balance, leading to melanin buildup and visible spots. All skin types are susceptible, as pigment cells are evenly distributed. Nivea Cellular Luminous630® helps restore balance by reducing spot intensity.
