As holiday celebrations near, many aim to shine in selfies and gatherings. A new study highlights rising cosmetic procedures in the US for that perfect New Year's look. In the UK, women are embracing an innovative solution: Botox injections in their feet. Dr. Esho, founder of Esho Clinics, shared with The Independent a 15% spike in these treatments this season—not for aesthetics alone, but to ease discomfort from high heels.
The procedure targets four foot areas with Botox and dermal filler. Botox curbs sweating and expansion for better shoe fit, while filler bolsters the ball of the foot, mimicking the natural fat pad that thins with age. Dr. Esho's clients span women in their 50s and 60s favoring luxury but painful heels, plus younger 25- to 35-year-olds in trendy pumps. Expect costs of €715–€950, with results lasting 3–4 months.
Practical as it is, Dr. Esho cautions against overuse: "Pain is a signal that something is wrong." Stash some ballerinas to party pain-free all night!
