Lush continues to innovate, staying true to its ethical roots as a vegan brand committed to animal welfare. In April 2018, it launched Lush Labs—a monthly program inviting customers to trial limited-edition products. On the 29th of each month (a tribute to 29 High Street in Poole, the original lab of Lush's co-founders), a select batch goes live online for one month only. The aim? Gather real consumer feedback to refine, launch, or retire products based on what works best.
From solid foundations and perfumes to soaps, Lush Labs has tested a variety of items since its debut. This October, facial care is the focus with five innovative products: a solid face oil (available in four versions for different skin types), a solid cleansing balm (four variations), a cleansing cream, and kombu seaweed eye patches. Prices range from €2 for the patches to €5.95 for cleansers and €15.95 for the face oil. True to Lush's zero-waste ethos, all are packaging-free solids—simply let them dry and store in a reusable tin or the provided pouch. The brand has even shifted shower gels to solid formats to minimize packaging.
