Creating homemade cosmetics offers natural benefits, but crafting skincare like creams, shampoos, deodorants, or shower gels can be tricky due to heating requirements. That's why Nelly Pitt developed Beauty Mix—a user-friendly robot that streamlines the process. While not the first on the market, Beauty Mix stands out as the only one (to our knowledge) providing both ingredients and recipes, all made in France. Embracing sustainability, its natural, organic ingredients arrive in reusable, returnable glass bottles (earn a €1 discount when you return them). Tailored ingredient kits are also available based on your skin type.
Using it is straightforward: add recipe ingredients (found via the app or website), select cold or hot preparation, and let the robot handle the rest. Then, simply transfer your custom treatment into the provided glass container.
Currently, a select range of recipes covers essentials like deodorant, lip balm, micellar water, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, clay mask, moisturizing cream, scrub, toothpaste, and more. The best part? Recipes are fully customizable—choose scents or oils, for example, in shower gel. Each includes difficulty level, prep time, and shelf life. Experienced DIYers can even create their own formulas. For makeup, add pigments to lip balm for lipstick or tint a face cream base for foundation. A connected version with dedicated makeup features was planned for 2020.
The robot retails for €129 on the official site and at Nature et Découvertes. Ingredient kits range from €15 to €25—a worthwhile investment, as a €25 kit yields three full products. It's a win for your skin and the planet.
