Hair:3 tips to hold curls

The most frustrating thing when you've spent a lot of time getting a pretty hairstyle? That it doesn't last... And that's sometimes the case when you curl your hair. Okay, not all hair types are created equal when it comes to getting it in shape, but we assure you:there are tips for making a hairstyle last (and most importantly, mistakes to avoid!) . Here are 3 that will prolong the life of our curls and waves.

1/ Use a texturizing product

Yes, it's even before getting your hair done that everything is decided! Already, we apply a thermo-protective spray before using a hot device, in order to protect the hair fiber. Then, to help the curls hold, we put on a texturizing styling (foam or thickening lotion type) that we apply all over the hair. Good to know:curls are difficult to hold on hair that is too clean, so avoid washing them just before combing your hair!

2/ Let the wicks cool

This is the mistake we all make:let go of the barely formed curl with an iron or styler and undo it with your finger to obtain a more natural effect. In reality, it is while cooling that the curl will adopt its final shape, so it is important to hold it while the wick cools (or to keep it rolled up with pliers) and to work it with your finger only at the very end. If we touch it while it is still hot, we will ruin all the work and end up with a semblance of a wave that will not hold...

3/ Fix the hairstyle

We are not going to lie to each other, for the curls to hold, you have to help them a little. We therefore spray a veil of lacquer on the hairstyle once we have obtained the rendering that we want, without putting a ton to avoid the cardboard effect. And above all, we don't touch it anymore!
