Exclusive Interview: Fauve Hautot Reveals Her Kiehl’s Skincare Secrets from the #5minPourVotrePeau Campaign

What inspired you to partner with Kiehl’s?

I connected with the team instantly—I only work with people I genuinely click with, and that natural rapport is essential. I rediscovered products I already loved, and the positive atmosphere made for truly enjoyable days on set.

What’s your go-to skincare routine for radiant skin?

I’m not one for hours in the bathroom; it has to be quick and effective. In the shower, I use the Calendula Deep Cleansing Facial Cleansing Gel, and my three bedside essentials are the Vitamin C Anti-Wrinkle Concentrate, the moisturizing eye contour with avocado oil, and the Ultra Facial Cream, perfect for morning and night. My absolute favorite is the white clay mask—it leaves my skin glowing like I’ve slept 12 hours!

Any makeup must-haves?

The Graftobian Glamor Cream palette is my go-to for everyday and professional looks—it beautifully illuminates the face. I opt for a lightweight Guerlain foundation, mainly on the cheeks. For lips, I love matte lipsticks paired simply with mascara. That’s all I need!

How do you keep your hair healthy?

Kérastase products, always! I nourish with castor and coconut oils, and color without ammonia. It’s crucial for maintaining health, especially with heat styling from straighteners and curling irons. Natural care is key.

Tell us about your signature red hair color.

I’ve always gravitated toward copper tones. I tried electric red, then brown, but it felt dull, so I returned to this sunny shade naturally.

Your name ‘Fauve’ fits perfectly with the ‘urban jungle’ campaign theme. Where does it come from?

My parents are wonderfully unique! My dad watched an American TV movie, Legacy of Love, where a painter names her baby Fauve. He chose it for me—thanks, Dad! Fun fact: that character had red hair too. I love how it suits my vibe... though I don’t bite! (Laughs)

You live life at full speed. What do your rare rest days look like?

They’re infrequent, but I either lounge in pajamas with a burger and a movie, or rise early, tidy up, and head out for an adventure.

How do you reflect on your rapid rise to fame?

I feel blessed with a lucky star. I’ve turned my childhood passion into a career—not everyone gets that. It’s hard work with little free time, but it’s my choice because I love it. I thrive on adrenaline and constant stimulation; otherwise, I get bored!

Tell us about starring in Saturday Night Live, the musical.

The run ended April 30, 2017, after 68 Paris shows. I trusted director Stéphane Jarny’s vision—he choreographed À la Recherche de la Nouvelle Star, The Voice, and Disco. It was exhilarating; I even dabbled in comedy and loved the reception. We’re touring this fall—I’m thrilled!

Did you grow up with the Bee Gees?

My parents had their vinyls, so yes. At home, I’m more Jimi Hendrix, but the show’s soundtrack is iconic—everyone knows the hits by heart. I said yes imagining dancing to them nightly: ‘Wow, no problem!’
