Meeting with Lamazuna, the pioneers of zero waste

The brand's story began more than 10 years ago when Laëtitia Van De Walle replaced her classic cotton pads and micellar cleansing water with organic washable wipes. Since then, the brand has released dozens of products (cosmetics and accessories) and created an online sales site that brings together several supportive brands ! Thus, you can find pacifiers for your children, ecological stationery, ethical clothing and even products for your animals. The icing on the cake, Lamazuna challenges itself to offer you organic and natural cosmetics, vegan and handmade in France , we love it!

Meeting with Lamazuna, the pioneers of zero waste

Above all, introduce yourself and your brand

"Hello ! I am Laëtitia, the creator of Lamazuna, whose goal is to achieve zero waste in the bathroom for more than 10 years. It's a challenge that you all take up with us every day, which allows us to have avoided more than 50 million units of waste since the creation of the company! We continue, above all we don't give up =D”

What is your definition of female beauty?

"Natural ! Take care of yourself because it makes you feel good or just enough to show your loved ones that you respect them as you respect yourself, and for the rest it's all in the attitude. What could be more beautiful than the big smile of someone who is about to speak?! Add a touch of humor and voila, the entourage is conquered!”

Who is your female role model and why?

”Jane Austen, novelist who said no to marriage in the 18th century, living on her own income from writing. Independent and wildly romantic! In our time, she would certainly have traveled the world alone with her backpack =)”

What is your favorite quote?

”Carpe Diem!”

A message to all women?

”You are capable of it. Whether it's letting your husband take care of the kids even if their hair is less well groomed, asking your boss for a raise, or turning down that former colleague's dinner invitation, you can do it and you have the right =)”

How can I make my bathroom zero waste?

Today you can easily make your bathroom more responsible because almost all products exist in solid or durable format. The creator of the solid cosmetics brand left looking at her bathroom bin!

Meeting with Lamazuna, the pioneers of zero waste

Zero waste bathroom accessories

To replace disposable cottons, we use washable and reusable cottons . To replace cotton swabs, we turn to oriculis. Lamazuna also offers oriculis made of beech wood and bio-based materials . The wood comes from a Jura forest located not far from their offices, as for the biosourced materials, they come from castor oil, a plant that regrows every year! Oriculis and washable cottons are real beauty accessories that have a much lower environmental impact compared to their disposable version. By using them, you are doing good for the planet and your wallet! Classic toothbrushes are replaced by toothbrushes with a plastic and castor handle and a rechargeable head . To go even further, the brand takes care of the recycling of your used toothbrush heads:they provide you with a La Poste label to send them back and collaborate with TerraCycle, an innovative recycling company. The brand also offers menstrual cups and washable sanitary pads !

Solid beauty:environmentally friendly cosmetics

Solid cosmetics are on the rise and for good reason, they are:

  • zero waste,
  • economic,
  • also sensory and effective than conventional cosmetics,
  • minimalists , a solid shampoo takes up much less space than a shampoo in a plastic bottle and often brings you two actions:they are cleansing and moisturizing!
In addition to all these criteria, the brand's solid cosmetics are not tested on animals , made from raw materials of natural origin and made in France . In addition to beauty accessories, the brand also offers all bathroom products in a zero-waste version:shampoos, hair care, deodorants, toothpaste, solid make-up remover, face cleanser, moisturizing butter or even shaving bar! All of their products exist for all skin and hair types to meet everyone's needs and desires.

Lamazuna's key ingredients

Ingredients are one of Lamazuna's primary concerns when designing new products. To offer effective and sensory natural products they must find ingredients with interesting virtues, organic, natural and if possible produced not far from their manufacturing workshops . A real slow cosmetic approach! In their formula we can find baobab oil (Senegal), white clay (Italy or Brittany), baking soda (France), grape seed oil (France), Bergamot essential oil (Italy) or spirulina (France).
For the smell of their solid shampoo, the brand has developed perfumes without essential oil for products of great softness! Their formula remains secret but you can find smells of vanilla and coconut or gourmet praline smells!

A solid beauty routine with Lamazuna

For those new to the world of solid beauty and zero waste , the brand has created discovery boxes with the essentials!

  • For a make-up removal routine:a box containing washable make-up remover wipes and a very gentle face cleanser, perfect for taking the first step towards more responsible consumption!
  • For a natural hair routine:a box with a solid shampoo, the super solid organic conditioner and an oak wood comb made in France.
  • To fully embark on a responsible bathroom, you also have the Essential box:it contains a solid organic deodorant, an organic toothpaste in the shape of a lollipop (very fun for the youngest!), an organic solid shampoo and an oriculi.

For confirmed followers of solid cosmetics, you will find all the essentials of the brand on our organic and natural cosmetics site!

It's up to you to create a beauty routine that meets your needs depending on your skin type and hair type. Sensitive skin can turn to a deodorant without baking soda or essential oil for a more serene use. You will also find an organic solid facial cleanser based on coconut oil for clean and hydrated skin!

Even pregnant or breastfeeding women can continue to use the brand's products! Their moisturizing butters are formulated without essential oils, same for the solid conditioner, the solid face cleanser for normal skin or the solid shampoos for oily hair and dry hair!

This is a gender neutral mark . All products can be used by both men and women and we like that!

Latest news:the Lamazuna eco-place under construction which will include agricultural land, a canteen, offices and a zero-waste micro-nursery. This place will be open to visitors, we don't know about you but we can't wait!
