Dutch Women Amp Up Their Glamour During Holidays: Etos Survey Insights

Do you go all out on your appearance during the holidays? A survey by Dutch drugstore chain Etos reveals that women indulge in more luxury beauty treatments than usual this season.

It's no surprise: 83% report paying extra attention to their appearance when spending time with family and friends. Interestingly, six in ten women maintain this effort even while staying home.

Party-Ready Essentials
The research, conducted by Panelwizard for Etos among 529 Dutch women, explored holiday beauty routines.

Key finding: Women spend an average of €42.50 extra on beauty products and accessories. For half of respondents, a fresh haircut tops the list. Additionally, 54% style their hair by blow-drying, curling, or straightening it.

Nails get love too: Nearly half ensure manicured and polished nails. Legs aren't neglected—44% prioritize smooth hair removal, with over a quarter following up with rich body lotion and 7% using self-tanner.

Must-Have Holiday Products
December favorites include mascara (28%), accessories (23%), perfume (11%), and glitter makeup (5%). Seven in ten match their makeup to their party outfit.

Women also shared ideal romantic Christmas partners. GTST actor and dancer Jan Kooijman leads at 14%, followed by Chris Zegers (10%) and Humberto Tan (9.9%).

To impress, opt for a fragrance (74%), beauty voucher (34%), or bath/shower set (30%). Body lotion (21%) and mascara (18%) are also winners.
